Going for a springtime drive? 6 Spring Cleaning Tips from Eurotech USA

With very little to do publicly right now, many people are getting out more in their cars. Putting more thought into how your car should be clean, especially the interior is essential. So, whatever you drive, an Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche or Aston Martin, it’s time to rejuvenate your ride with these spring cleaning tips. It’s generally recommended to start with the exterior and then move to the interior.

  1. Scrub Your Tires

Scrub your tires with a tire-cleaning spray and firm brush. Then, clean your wheels. Your wheels are often over-looked but shouldn’t be neglected. Clean tires make a big difference in the overall aesthetics of your vehicle. Be sure to check out the labels so you know you’re getting the right formula for your particular European car. Make sure to use an acid-free pH balanced aluminum wheel cleaner.

  1. Wash the Body

Wash the body of your vehicle from top to bottom with an approved carwash product. Use the two-bucket method: one bucket should contain clean soapy water and the other one is where you will put your dirty rinse water. Using a sponge or clean cloth, gently scrub down the entire car.

Use a car washing soap specially formulated for high-end vehicles, as dish soap can strip the wax and damage the paint job. Using a clean mitt or cloth gently wash away loose contaminants such as dust, dirt, and mud.

To wash your windows, use a specially formulated auto window cleaner and not a common household glass cleaner, which can damage the tint thanks to the high ammonia content. Clean and wipe twice to avoid streaking.

  1. Rinse and Dry

Once you’ve gotten the car nice and soapy, hose it all off, as well as the underbody. Rather than let your car air dry, dry it with a clean microfiber towel.

  1. Do the Windows

To wash your windows, use a specially formulated auto window cleaner and not a common household glass cleaner, which can damage the tint thanks to the high ammonia content. Clean and wipe twice to avoid streaking.

  1. De-Clutter

Now it’s time for the interior. Get rid of any clutter you have accumulated over the winter months, from gas receipts to coffee cups to gum wrappers. Vacuum it out to get all the crumbs stuck in hard to reach places. If necessary, use a soft toothbrush with an approved cleaner for hard to reach spots.

  1. Clean the Dash

Using a mild cleaning spray and microfiber cloth, clean the dash, console and any other surfaces. Next, take the time to:

  • Vacuum the seats, floor mats, trunk and rugs.
  • Use an approved cleaner for all your leather upholstery. Take extra care and don’t scrub too hard.
  • Spray some glass cleaner onto a cloth to clean interior windows. Don’t spray directly onto the window.
  • Clean the floor mats one by one. Take them out of the car and place them on the grass. Scrub rubber ones with soapy water and carpeted ones with an approved carpet cleaner. Rinse and dry them thoroughly before placing them back in the car.
